What's a softboard? It's a board that's made of softer materials than the usual surfboard. Soft surfboards are a variation of longboards, and they are made to be more conducive to safety for beginners and kids. Softboards are a great choice for those just learning how to surf, because nothing is more defeating than trying to learn how to surf but getting beat up by a hard surfboard in the process. Our softboards are usually 9-10 feet in length, like longboards, because this helps stabilize the new surfer on the water. Our softboards have a soft top and a soft but slick bottom, which is good if you're out there learning and get bumped on the head or any other part of your body. Some of our softboards come equipped with rubber fins, which are effective tools for holding onto that wave. Most surfboards have resin or fiberglass fins, but the rubber fins are safer for new surfers.
When you are just getting the basics of surfing down, a soft surfboard provides the buoyancy and stability you need to catch the waves and practice. Our softboards have a foam core, or hollow plastic with solid foam, which will allow you to stay on top of wave and not under it! And it will last for like, ever.
